Tai Chi - Tai Chi Join us for a gentle, low-impact Tai Chi class designed specifically for Active Adults (50+). Often described as "meditation in motion," this ancient Chinese practice combines slow, flowing movements with deep breathing and mindfulness to improve your physical and mental well-being.
Our certified instructor, Teresa Waldron, will guide you through modified, easy-to-follow forms in a welcoming group setting.
Key Benefits:
Improved Balance and Fall Prevention: Regular practice trains proprioception (the body's ability to sense its position in space) and strengthens leg muscles, which can reduce your risk of falls by as much as 50%.
Increased Strength and Flexibility: The smooth, continuous movements help build muscle strength in both the upper and lower body and improve joint flexibility without stressing your joints.
Pain Reduction: Tai Chi has been shown to be effective in reducing chronic pain associated with conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, and back pain.
Enhanced Mental Well-being: The meditative aspect of Tai Chi helps to clear the mind, relieve stress, lower blood pressure, and can improve cognitive function and mood.
Social Connection: Enjoy the benefits of exercise while connecting with others in a supportive and engaging community environment.
Minimum of 8 people to run.
