Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a 2005 movie about a thief who gets involved in a murder mystery in Hollywood: Plot A New York thief named Harry Lockhart (Robert Downey Jr.) is mistaken for an actor and sent to Hollywood to train for a movie role. While there, he gets caught up in a murder mystery with his childhood sweetheart, Harmony Lane (Michelle Monaghan), and a private investigator, Perry van Shrike (Val Kilmer). The movie is a parody of film noir tropes and is named after Pauline Kael's 1968 collection of film reviews. Themes The movie is a post-modern attack on family values, with all of the father characters portrayed or mentioned in the story being evil. It also contains strong sexual content, foul language, action violence, and explicit nudity. Setting The movie takes place at Christmas in Los Angeles, where it's warm enough for people to swim in December.
