At A Step Ahead Soccer we believe in the power of play and storytelling

fundamental skills like dribbling, kicking, and ball control through
fun, age-appropriate activities integrated into our adventures.

share candy in Candyland to saving the Earth’s resources in space, your
child will learn to think outside the box.

Improved Social & Communication Skills: Teamwork, cooperation, and

First Step - A Parent and Me Soccer Program

Registration closes Sunday prior to the start of each session
Your Child's First Adventure into Soccer! This is a parent-and-me program, so each child is expected to have an adult helper with them each week. Gentle introductions using simple stories, songs, and imaginative play. Focus on parent-child interaction, exploring movement, becoming comfortable with the ball (our friend "Smart Scott the Soccer-bot")!, and following simple story cues. Adventures are adapted for short attention spans and maximum sensory fun.
The specific goals of this program include helping children learn to interact within larger groups, increasing their attention spans with the help of their parents through our interactive storytelling methodology, learning to kick and control a ball with their feet, and the introduction to a specific soccer skill.

A Step Up

Registration closes Sunday prior to the start of each session
Big Fun for Little Players! We encourage children ages 3 and 4 to engage more independently in slightly more complex adventures.
The storylines encourage basic dribbling (navigating a path), stopping the ball (avoiding obstacles),and listening to multi-step instructions within the narrative. Emphasis on cooperation and understanding roles within the story.
After the adventure, the players all get to show off their mastery of the season’s skill in our skills-for-stickers segment of each class. Week after week, we build the skill up so that the players learn at their own pace but are also challenged with new movements every week making this a fantastic gross motor skill development exercise.
Each week ends with a game where we cheer the player on as they learn to control the ball and score goals in a non-competitive, but chaotic environment. Each session is one hour long.

Big Adventures for Growing Players! Our Next Step program is designed just for 5-year-olds who are ready to take their soccer journey to the next level!
Each week, we dive into action-packed adventures that spark imaginations and get kids moving. Our signature story-based play is still front and center but now, the stories are more dynamic, the challenges a bit trickier, and the excitement even bigger! We introduce more advanced skills in a fun, supportive way.
During our "Skill-for-Stickers" time, we cheer on effort while gently guiding players to perform skills more accurately. Every dribble, pass, and shot is a chance to grow and earn a shiny sticker, of course! Our mini games feel more like real soccer too. Players begin to understand the thrill of scoring goals and the importance of defending their team’s net. It’s fast, fun, and full of learning moments wrapped in smiles and high-fives.
The Next Step is where imagination meets real soccer development helping kids build confidence, coordination, and love for the game as they get ready for more structured play ahead. Let the adventure (and the learning) continue!
