SENIOR FIT SENIOR STRONG
Thanks to the generous support of the Valley Community Foundation, Seymour Recreation is pleased to announce Senior Fit, Senior Strong! The program offers Senior Center Members several free exercise classes a week! Registration is required.
10am each day Stay fit & Strong at Seymour Senior Center.
Mondays - Chair Yoga
Taught by Jeanne Dziewulski, this will allow for you to get the benefit of yoga with the assistance of a chair.
TUESDAYS - Looking for an activity on Tuesdays -Try our 8 week Tai Chi session.
Wednesdays - Zumba Gold
Taught by Amanda Aramzullo, Zumba Gold is perfect for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity. The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination.
Thursdays - Qigong
Taught by Diane Lewis, Qigong Looking for a new low impact exercise class? Qigong (similar to Tai Chi) is a form of gentle exercise composed of movements that are repeated a number of times, often stretching the body, increasing fluid movement and building awareness of how the body moves.
Fridays - Strength, Toning, and Balance
Taught by Raquel Teixeira, this class will increase muscle strength, range of movement, balance, and coordination through a variety of exercises. Light hand weights, balls and exercise bands will be utilized. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. Suited for all levels.
