If school is closed make-up classes will be added at the end of the session.Class Descriptions:Pre-school (3-4 yrs old): Help participants feel comfortable in the water. Inform participants on how to safely enter and exit water using ladder and side of pool. How to blow bubbles through mouth and nose, have open eyes (or goggles) under water and retrieve submerged objects, Front and back glides and floats, Roll from front to back and back to front, and how to Tread water. The participants will start to learn water safety and how to gain better confidence in the water. Children should be comfortable in an independent class setting without a parent entering the water.Beginner(4+ yrs): Participants will learn fundamental skills such as fully submerging and holding breath, bobbing, opening eyes under water and retrieving submerged objects.  Class will also focus on, front crawl and backstroke, front and back glides and floats, rolling from front to back and back to front, changing direction of travel while swimming on front or back, and treading water. Participants will learn to jump feet first from side of pool and return to the surface onto their backs. The participants will start to learn water safety more in detail and how to gain better confidence in the water. Child must have basic comfort being in water.Beginner (7-12yrs or with permission of instructor): Must be able to kick with a kickboard on their own. This class builds on the skills learned in beginner class or previous experience. There will be guided practice in deeper water. We anticipate that these classes will fill quickly. Please register or waitlist your child if the class is full. Waitlist will be accepted and classes may be added based on demand. We will follow the school closing schedule. If school is closed make-up classes will be added at the end of the session.Class Descriptions:Pre-school (3-4 yrs old): Help participants feel comfortable in the water. Inform participants on how to safely enter and exit water using ladder and side of pool. How to blow bubbles through mouth and nose, have open eyes (or goggles) under water and retrieve submerged objects, Front and back glides and floats, Roll from front to back and back to front, and how to Tread water. The participants will start to learn water safety and how to gain better confidence in the water. Children should be comfortable in an independent class setting without a parent entering the water.Beginner(4+ yrs): Participants will learn fundamental skills such as fully submerging and holding breath, bobbing, opening eyes under water and retrieving submerged objects.  Class will also focus on, front crawl and backstroke, front and back glides and floats, rolling from front to back and back to front, changing direction of travel while swimming on front or back, and treading water. Participants will learn to jump feet first from side of pool and return to the surface onto their backs. The participants will start to learn water safety more in detail and how to gain better confidence in the water. We anticipate that these classes will fill quickly. Please register or waitlist your child if the class is full. Waitlist will be accepted and classes may be added based on demand. We will follow the school closing schedule.
